On 24 September 2024, the collegium of judges of the Judicial Chamber for Criminal Cases of the Kyiv Court of Appeal considered the appeal filed by the defence against the decision of the investigating judge of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv of 18 June 2024, which granted the motion of the senior investigator of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine and imposed a preventive measure of detention on suspect S.
According to the results of the appeal hearing, the decision of the investigating judge of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv of 18 June 2024 was upheld, and the defence appeal was dismissed.
As a reminder, S., a citizen of the russian federation, is suspected of committing a criminal offence under part 1 of article 28, part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal code of Ukraine.
In accordance with the provisions of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine and Article 17 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
